We’ve made it to the last weekend of the year, with things going pretty slow around baseball. We did get one splash though, with the Tigers signing Gleyber Torres yesterday to a one-year, $15-million contract. It’s hard to call an eight-figure salary a disappointment, but the deal has to be under what Torres expected, even coming off a down 2024. In any event, we hope Torres succeeds in Detroit. He posted a heartfelt message to Yankees fans and the organization on Twitter/X after news of the signing broke.
