América earned a direct pass to the round of 16 in this year’s Champions Cup as the Liga MX champion, and defeated Chivas 4-1 on aggregate to reach the last eight.
Cruz Azul breezed past Haitian side Real Hope 7-0 on aggregate in Round One before comfortably defeating the Seattle Sounders 4-1 on aggregate in the round of 16.
The winner of this series will take on the winner between Tigres and the LA Galaxy in the semifinals.
