On Tuesday night, the San Antonio Spurs will take on the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs have eben officially elimintaed from Play-In contention, and the Clippers, winners of their last four in a row, boast fifth place in the Western Conference.
However, the gap between the fifth-place Clippers and eight-seeded Memphis Grizzlies is slim, as four teams are 42-36. The Clippers just happen to own the tiebreaker but need to have an equal or better record than Memphis, Minnesota, and Golden State to hold onto their spot.
The Spurs have made it clear that despite missing the postseason they aren’t willing to go without a fight, and with no possibility of moving down the standings for a better draft pick, there’s no reason for them to willingly lose this game.

The Clippers have plenty of experience this season without Leonard, although when he plays he’s still one of the very best forwards in the league. The Clippers can’t afford to rest him for any reason, given their precarious playoff position, so expect him to suit up against his former team.
