Dua Lipa shares her ambitions fueled by Madonna, articulating her longing to craft her most exceptional album upon reaching the age of 40.

Dua Lipa is only 24 years old and is just starting out in the pop world. She has already achieved a lot. Two of her albums, 2017’s Eponymous and 2020’s “Future Nostalgia”, are huge successes. But she has a long way to go and is inspired by Madonna in this longevity.

In the pop world, especially with women, there is a certain prejudice against age. It is “common” for the performance of these artists to fall in the charts as they get older (which is not cool at all). However, there are exceptions, like Madonna. It was in her 40s that she released the acclaimed albums “Ray of Light”, “Music” and “American Life”. For Dua Lipa, it’s a goal to have so much time to be relevant.

“I feel like Madonna has turned 40 or 45 and released the best pop album ever made, and she’s still killing it. Women, we can do this for as long as we want. And then, at some point, I’m going to retire with two dogs and go back to smoking,” she commented in a recent interview.

She adds, “ The success I’ve had is more than I thought possible. To be honest, I never thought I would get this far. Not because I didn’t think I could, but because I didn’t

Dua Lipa has worked hard to achieve success. She even got the word “patience” tattooed about three years ago. At the time, she was going to be part of the Glastonbury festival, one of the biggest in the world, and she was afraid of not having an audience. It was a way to keep in mind not to give up on her goals. In the end, it worked out really well!

“ Every time I went onstage it was so emotional. At the Grammys, at that moment, sometimes I have to watch it back to remember, because when they called my name, I felt like I was passed out, “ recalled her, who won the award for “Best New Artist” in 2019.

By the way, there are many awards ahead… Better get ready!

“Don’t Start Now” Phenomenon

The album “Future Nostalgia” received platinum certification in Brazil, was #1 in the United Kingdom and Top 5 on the Billboard 200. “Don’t Start Now” is still the greatest success of the work, with platinum certifications accumulated around the world. The song reached number two in both the United States and the United Kingdom. The clip, in turn, registers 323 million hits on YouTube.
