An Ohio Republican lawmaker got some pushback from CNN as he ranted and raved about conspiracy theories involving conservative censorship and MAGA fans being targeted.
Finally, CNN anchor Boris Sanchez had enough of Rep. Warren Davidson’s (R-OH) antics.
“What does that have to do with Christopher Wray?” he asked.
“Because he leads the FBI, and who was the ringleader for silencing speech? It was the FBI, Mark Zuckerberg saying, ‘Yeah, this was going on,'” said Davidson.

Presumably, he is referencing communications between social media companies and the government, flagging terms of service violations. CNN fact-checked the conspiracy last year, finding that even Elon Musk’s own lawyers disputed the characterization.
Davidson then rambled on about being ‘debanked,’ a conspiracy theory that banks shut down accounts of people who work with cryptocurrency. The congressman attributes the increase in attention to podcast host Joe Rogan, who claimed he knew 30 tech company founders who were “debanked in the past four years.”
Musk called for debunking to be unlawful and suggested it ought be a federal offense.
Regulatory agencies like the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency “does not direct banks to open, close, or maintain individual accounts. Nor does the OCC recommend or encourage banks to engage in the wholesale termination of categories of customer accounts,” the office said in a statement to NBC News.
“It’s all these three-letter agencies like the FBI, led by people like Chris Wray,” Davidson continued. “They’ve completely destroyed the trust of the American people. And we need people to come in from outside to do what they failed to do.”
