Introducing a whole new Austin Butler. 

The actor, 33, showed off his fresh buzzcut while attending the SFFILM’s Awards Night in San Francisco on Monday evening.

A departure from the chin-length style he was rocking until recently, Austin looked cleaner and more debonair thanks to his finely shaven new hairstyle.

The star looked incredibly handsome as he posed on the red carpet in his black suit and tie. 

The new look got fans talking on social media, with a majority drooling over the cut. 

‘Well, hello!’ one admirer chimed in.

‘What a hot debut,’ one wrote, while another remarked similarly, ‘Austin’s new look is totally on fire.’ 

‘Glow up!’ one tweeted. 

‘haha austin butlers bald in mexico rn,’ one wrote, referencing photos of him taken earlier this month that were posted to social media. 

But not everyone loved the look, with one comparing him to ‘a rich kid who moved to Colorado.’

Austin’s hair normally falls right along the chin, and the actor’s hair was chin-length as he filmed Caught Stealing in New York last month. 

The Elvis star is leading the film, which is based on the book of the same name by Charlie Huston, alongside Zoe Kravitz and Regina King. 

In the film, he plays a former baseball player who finds himself mixed up with criminals.

Filming for Caught Stealing kicked off in late September — six months after Butler’s casting was confirmed.

As per Deadline, the film ‘follows Hank Thompson (Butler), a burned-out former baseball player, as he’s unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of ’90s New York City.’

The star-studded crime thriller also features performances by Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Matt Smith and Bad Bunny.

Caught Stealing marks Butler’s latest high-profile role after starring in Dune: Part Two, which remains the highest grossing film of 2024 thus far.

The Dune sequel — which also starred Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya and Florence Pugh — has raked in $700million at the worldwide since it premiered in theaters in March.

Not everyone was a fan of the look

Butler earned his first-ever Golden Globe and an Oscar nomination for Best Actor last year for his portrayal of the late music icon Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s acclaimed 2022 musical biopic. 

Elvis catapulted Butler to A-list stardom — over two decades after he found fame in the early 2000s as a child star on Nickelodeon.

Butler’s latest film The Bikeriders starring Tom Hardy and Jodie Comer hits theaters in June and has an 80 percent ‘fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Meanwhile, outside of work Austin has been dating model Kaia Gerber since late 2021 and the couple went public in March 2022.
