Former President Bill Clinton was discharged from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital on Tuesday after being for the flu.
“President Clinton was discharged earlier today after being treated for the flu,” spokesperson Angel Ureña said. “He and his family are deeply grateful for the exceptional care provided … and are touched by the kind messages and well wishes he received.”
“He sends his warmest wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season to all,” Ureña, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, added.
Clinton, 78, underwent a quadruple bypass surgery in 2005 and surgery for a partially collapsed lung in 2004.
