HOUSTON – We’re tracking another warm day on Christmas Eve ahead of the cold front, which is expected to bring rain and the chance for thunderstorms in the overnight hours.
The majority of the day will be warm, muggy and breezy with some light shower chances. Some of those storms could be strong or severe, bringing the chance for small hail and gusty winds Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

The current timing has us stormy through the overnight hours. This shouldn’t be a problem at all with Rudolph on Santa’s team – they’ve traveled through much worse.

Obviously, this line has a chance to bring in some noisy thunderstorms overnight with some strong wind gusts, lightning and heavy rain for less than an hour or so.

he line will be moving quick enough to keep flood concerns at bay, most rainfall totals will be between half and inch to an inch. Some ponding on roads but nothing major.

If you’re headed to the Texans game on Wednesday – we have a slight chance for lingering showers but the forecast should turn partly cloudy around noon with temperatures in the 70s.
