Nikki Glaser zings Hollywood for Harris support: You can do anything ‘except tell the country who to vote for’

Nikki Glaser is ribbing Hollywood stars that their substantial support for Vice President Harris’s White House bid failed to win her the presidential race against President-elect Trump.

“I am not here to roast you tonight. I want you to know that,” the comedian said during her monologue Sunday as she hosted the 81st annual Golden Globe awards in Los Angeles.

“And how could I, really? You’re all so famous, so talented, so powerful,” Glaser, 40, continued.

“I mean, you could really do anything,” she said of some of the nation’s top performers, “except tell the country who to vote for.”

A who’s who of Hollywood lined up behind Harris ahead of November’s presidential election, with everyone from Jennifer Lopez, George Clooney, Viola Davis and Scarlett Johansson backing the vice president’s campaign against Trump.

“But it’s OK, you’ll get them next time — if there is one,” Glaser said with a slight laugh, before suggesting in a quip that she’s fearful of the country’s political state.

“I’m scared,” Glaser told the audience, before quipping to “Wicked” star Ariana Grande, “Ariana, hold my finger.”

Glaser told ITK last year that she tends to “steer away” from political zingers out of anger.

“If I get too angry, sometimes it can be funny, but it’s like I’m too angry to be funny and people can sense that,” she said in March. “It turns you off when you’re watching someone just like rage and lose control.”
