Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill doubles down on desire to be traded

Tyreek Hill is channeling his inner Antonio Brown.

A day after letting out his frustrations to the media about the Maimi Dolphins’ season and potentiall wanting out, the five-time All-Pro wide receiver has hinted again to wanting a new home.

Hill changed his profile picture on X Monday to one of Antonio Brown, but not one honouring the former star wideout. It is of Brown’s famous exit from the Buccaneers, and ultimately the league, when he took off his jersey mid-game and hyped up the crowd as he ran off to the locker room.

But Hill put his own twist on it, photoshopping his face onto Brown’s in his latest efforts to voice his displeasure with the 2024 season.

It appears that Hill is all-but-done in Miami, but it may not be so easy for the Dolphins to move on. Being a superstar comes with a mammoth contract, one that is not so desirable to take on.

Miami and Hill agreed to a restructured contract this past off-season worth $90 million with $65 million guaranteed over three seasons. According to Spotrac, if Hill is moved before the new league-year on March 15, he is guaranteed $28.65 million for 2025, and $36 million non-guaranteed for 2026.

That is a steep price for a player who may not be what he once was. He appeared in all 17 games this season and recorded 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns, all his lowest totals since 2019 when he only played 12 games.

This season also marked the first time in his nine-year career that Hill did not make the playoffs and was not voted to the Pro Bowl.
