A-List Actress Reveals She ‘Destroyed’ Taylor Swift’s Bathroom originally appeared on Parade.
Zoë Kravitz has a hilarious — and slightly destructive — story about her time as a guest in Taylor Swift’s home.
During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday, August 12, the 36-year-old actress shared that Swift generously opened her doors to Kravitz and her mother, Lisa Bonet, during the Los Angeles wildfires during the beginning of 2025. The pair ended up staying for about two weeks — and brought along Bonet’s pet snake, Orpheus, along with them.
“My mom has a pet snake and so she came over with the snake,” Kravitz explained, noting that Swift’s “very beautiful house from the ‘30s” felt like the kind of place you want to ‘preserve and take care of.’” On her last day there, Kravitz told her mom she wanted to be such a good guest that Swift “wouldn’t even know we were here.”
That plan fell apart when Bonet called her upstairs in a panic, crouched in the bathroom with a problem: Orpheus had found “a little hole in the corner” and slithered inside. Kravitz described how the hole sat next to a built-in banquette with drawers. As they tried to retrieve the snake, it moved further out of reach, prompting Kravitz to call the house manager. “I get down the ground, I take the drawers out [and] as this is happening, the snake is getting further and further [away] … I was panicking so much,” she revealed.

Armed with a crowbar, Kravitz, her mother, and the house manager tore into the banquette to try and retrieve Orpheus. “We’re ripping up the tile, we’re scratching the walls … [We] completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom,” Kravitz admitted. She stated her plan was to cover the repairs and hoped to fix it before Swift, 35, found out — but the 14-time Grammy winner found out anyway.
“I remember calling her and saying, ‘Hey … I wanted to talk to you about something,’And she was like, ‘Is it the fact that you almost lost a snake in the house and destroyed my bathroom?’” Kravitz recalled their conversation.
In the end, the mishap only added another funny chapter to their friendship — one that has been growing for years.
