The White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood has criticised a Saturday Night Live sketch in which she was impersonated by a comedian using exaggerated prosthetic teeth as “mean and unfunny”.
The actress, 31, said the show “punched down” and implied the sketch, which starred the Saturday Night Live cast member Sarah Sherman, was sexist.
In a post on Instagram, Wood wrote that while she had no issue with being made fun of “when it’s clever and in good spirits”, there “must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way” of doing it.
