Browns reportedly fire OC Ken Dorsey, OL coach Andy Dickerson after 3-14 season

Only four teams have played their Week 18 games, but some coaches are already being shown the door. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns have fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and offensive line coach Andy Dickerson.

The Browns played the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday in their season finale, losing 35-10. It was a fitting way to end their 3-14 season, during which they started multiple ineffective quarterbacks and failed to score points at an almost alarming rate.

Dorsey and Dickerson had been with the organization just one season. Dorsey was hired prior to the 2024 campaign after being fired by the Buffalo Bills in the middle of the 2023 season, his second with the Bills.

To illustrate the Browns’ offensive futility in 2024, you don’t have to look far. For example, you could point to the four quarterbacks they started this season: Deshaun Watson (who started seven games before sustaining an Achilles injury), Jameis Winston (who started the seven games after Watson went down before sustaining a shoulder injury), Dorian Thompson-Robinson (who started in Week 15 and 16) and Bailey Zappe (who started Saturday’s game).

You can also look at Cleveland’s team stats to see what went wrong. The Browns will finish the season with the fewest points scored of all teams (258). They scored 10 or fewer points in their last four games of the season. They scored more than 30 points just once, in their 41-32 loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 13. They scored more than 20 points just three times. They’ll finish the season having allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL with 66.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski is expected to return in 2025, as is general manager Andrew Berry. Watson, who signed a fully guaranteed five-year, $230 million contract with the Browns in 2022 that was restructured, will reportedly compete for the starting QB job in 2025.
