The Milwaukee Bucks secured a victory against the Atlanta Hawks, advancing to the finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Giannis Antetokounmpo, prioritizing legacy over money, aims to create lasting memories for his family. He leads the league in scoring, averaging 32.
During the NBA Cup semifinals, Mariah Riddlesprigger, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s wife, was not shy to express her support of Taurean Prince’s wife, Hanah Usman. Mariah’s four-word remark, “Look at my friends,” on Usman’s Instagram photo went viral. Besides showing her admiration for her friend, this gesture also went to show how supportive the families of the Milwaukee Bucks players are towards each other.
During the Bucks’ game against the Atlanta Hawks, Hanah Usman shared a series of images and videos on Instagram showing her and her five-year-old son, A’mari, wearing Taurean Prince’s jersey with pride. “Semi-final slay,” Usman’s caption, was enough to show how confident she was in her fit along with her baby boy.

The NBA Cup semifinal game concluded with a 110-102 victory for the Milwaukee Bucks, securing their spot in the championship game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Giannis Antetokounmpo played a very important part in the win, delivering an outstanding performance with 32 points, 14 rebounds, nine assists, and four blocks. Taurean Prince also contributed with six points, three rebounds, and one steal.
The Bucks will play the Oklahoma City Thunder at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas in the NBA Cup final. Milwaukee comes into the game as a 4.5-point underdog, despite having won three straight games. With a monetary prize of about $500,000 for each member of the winning team and about $200,000 for the runners-up, both teams are going to give it their all to win the #1 spot.
However, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s focus is not on the financial reward.
“For me, I don’t think, I try not to think about the money,” he said. “I think about the money when we’re talking about the young guys. Personally, I try not to think about the money, I think about the game. I don’t play basketball, anymore, for the money.” His words reflect his broader perspective on his career, emphasizing legacy over financial gain.
Giannis elaborated on his mindset, highlighting his goal to leave a lasting impact for his family. “For me, it’s [about] creating more art, creating more moments that I can remember, and creating more legacy for myself and something my kids can look back on and say, ‘My dad was a bad mf’er when he used to play,’” he explained. This focus on legacy further solidifies his standing as one of the NBA’s most driven stars.
So far this season, Giannis has been performing at an elite level, averaging 32.7 points per game, the highest in the league. His contributions include 11.5 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game, while shooting an impressive 61.4% from the field. The Bucks currently hold a 14-11 record, placing them fifth in the Eastern Conference.
