OF. DONNA, THANK YOU SO MUCH. JAMIE. WILL, KANSAS CITY’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SEASON STARTS NOW. TODAY, THE BIG 12 WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP TIPS OFF AND IN A NEW HOME KMBC NINE’S MARTIN AUGUSTINE IS LIVE OUTSIDE OF T-MOBILE CENTER AND MARTIN, THE WOMEN THERE MAKING THE MOVE FROM MUNISING AUDITORIUM. BUT IT’S NOT THE ONLY CHANGE THAT WE’RE GOING TO SEE. YEAH, LOTS OF CHANGES FOR THE WOMEN’S TOURNAMENT THIS YEAR. FIRST AND FOREMOST, WHERE THEY’RE GOING TO PLAY, THEY’RE GOING TO BE PLAYING RIGHT HERE IN THE T-MOBILE CENTER, WHICH IS WHERE THE MEN HAVE PLAYED FOR YEARS, PLAYING HERE INSTEAD OF AT MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM, AS YOU MENTIONED THERE. NOW THEY’VE PLAYED THERE. MUNICIPAL FOR MANY YEARS. IT’S A LANDMARK, HISTORIC PLACE. BUT THE CONFERENCE MOVED THE WOMEN TO T-MOBILE IN LARGE PART FOR EQUITY REASONS. QUALITY OF THE LOCKER ROOMS AND PLAYING ENVIRONMENT, MORE SEATS FOR THE GROWING NUMBER OF FANS WHO ARE ENJOYING THE WOMEN’S GAME, JUST TO NAME A FEW. BUT THIS MOVE HAS ALSO CHANGED THE SCHEDULE OF THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIPS INSTEAD OF THE WOMEN PLAYING GAMES SIMULTANEOUSLY AS THE MEN, THE WOMEN START WITH TWO GAMES TONIGHT WITH THE TOURNAMENT STRETCHING OVER THE NEXT OVER TO NEXT TUESDAY’S WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP AND TUESDAY’S WHEN THE MEN’S TOURNAMENT WILL START AS WELL. SO IT WILL BE A WEEK AND A HALF OF CONSTANT BASKETBALL. THE EXTRA DAYS PUSHED ALONG BY THE FOUR NEW UNIVERSITIES PLAYING IN THE CONFERENCE BRIGHAM YOUNG CINCINNATI, CENTRAL FLORIDA AND HOUSTON ALL MAKES FOR A FRESH OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW OFF KANSAS CITY, WHICH ARE MORE FANS, MORE HOTEL ROOMS, MORE SPENDING, MORE RETAIL, MORE FOOD AND BEVERAGE, AND THEN MORE PEOPLE REALLY SEEING HOW GREAT KANSAS CITY IS, SOMETHING THAT IS NOT CHANGING IS THE FAN EXPERIENCE. HERE IN FRONT OF THE T-MOBILE CENTER. YOU GET A LOT OF CHANCES TO SHOW OFF YOUR BASKETBALL PROWESS. UH, HERE THERE WILL BE PEP RALLIES INSIDE THE POWER AND LIGHT DISTRICT. AND OF COURSE, POWER AND LIGHT DISTRICTS ARE READY TO SERVE YOU
