Showers and thunderstorms are expected to sweep across the Dallas-Fort Worth area on Christmas Eve, possibly bringing between half an inch and three-quarters of an inch of rain.
Temperatures will hover near 67 degrees, accompanied by a south wind shifting to the west-northwest by Tuesday afternoon.

The weather service issued a flash flood warning before 11 a.m. for a number of cities in Dallas, Collin and Denton counties, including Dallas, Plano, Garland, Irving, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco and Richardson.
The warning was issued after the weather service reported up to 2 inches of rain had fallen by 11 a.m. Tuesday, with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.
The warning would be in place until 2 p.m., though weather conditions are subject to change.
A ground stop at DFW International Airport was called after 7:30 a.m. for thunderstorms. The weather-related ground stop could compound delays for American Airlines passengers, who already faced a roughly one-hour halt earlier due to a “vendor technology issue” early Tuesday morning.
The weather-related ground stop was lifted after 11 a.m., but travelers still faced delays, with an average wait time of two and a half hours, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
The chance of precipitation was 80% Tuesday morning. By the afternoon and late evening, the chance will drop to 50%, according to the weather service.
Patchy drizzle is expected Christmas Day before 3 p.m., with mostly cloudy skies into the afternoon and evening and a high near 61 degrees.
