The Dodgers started their 2025 season in Tokyo with a two-game set against the Chicago Cubs. They will end that series Tuesday and Wednesday, with the final two games of the series. The Dodgers have the upper hand in the series, with a 3-2 lead. The Cubs took two of three in L.A. earlier in April.
After a bit of a slide, the Dodgers find themselves back atop the NL West, tied with the San Diego Padres, and in a three-way tie with the New York Mets for the best record in the mjor leagues.

It seems weird to finish a series this early in the season, but that’s the beauty of the MLB season.
Dustin May will be making his fourth start of the season. May is sporting a 1.06 ERA, which would be fourth best in the majors if he had enough innings to qualify. He’s coming off back to back games where he went 6.0 innings and only allowing one earned run. The team is hoping he can go at least that long again, as the Dodgers are looking at another potential bullpen game on Wednesday.
He will be facing off against Shota Imanaga, who the Dodgers faced in Japan. There he went 4.0 scoreless innings against them, in a game that the Dodgers ultimately won 4-1.
The Dodgers are coming off some intense games, taking two of three from the first place Texas Rangers in Arlington. It took eight innings in Sunday’s game for the Dodgers to scrap across one run, which was the only run in the game.

The weather for the two games in Chicago is pretty decent for April, with temps to be in the low-to-mid 60’s. There is a slight chance of a rain shower moving though both evenings but shouldn’t be enough to affect the game.
