I was never a huge fan of Dorit Kemsley during her first few years. She came off a bit thirsty between her faux accent and continuous poses for selfies. But over the seasons, she grew on me. Season 14 is her redemption era. The mother of two is no longer boring but giving everything she has. In the few episodes alone, she has fought with Kyle Richards and shared about her divorce from PK Kemsley. Dorit is my MVP. Right out of the gate, she hasn’t held anything back.
Kyle’s Denim and Diamonds party when tits up as fans assume it would. But I never thought the party would have a fireworks display comprised of Dorit’s angry outburst. Between Sutton Stracke telling Dorit she is angry at her life and Garcelle Beauvais telling everyone that Kyle texts PK, a lot was going on. But the highlight of the party is that Dorit was triggered by Sutton denying that she overreacts to every small thing and is being yelled at again. After, Dorit shares that she doesn’t feel Sutton can be honest and doesn’t deserve to lead the charge to sisterhood. The conversation was savage.
During this talk, Dorit clearly stated she has “zero tolerance” for bullsh*t. Camille Meyer chooses to interject her opinion out of left field, but no one asked for it. She noted she was never given compassion during her rough times, to which Dorit replies it was because she was a “total c*nt” to her. The newly separated Dorit didn’t balk as she noted that she feels Camille, the drama queen, always needs to have a moment. Dorit then notes in her confessional, “Camille has been coming around year after year after year trying to get a rise out of me. And I don’t give it to her. OK, b*tch. Is this what it’s going to take to get you to go away?”
Dorit is not standing for the ice queen; Kyle’s icing out methods. After years of being pushed into the corner by the child actress, Dorit is lashing out. The feud between the two former friends has been ongoing, and Dorit is on the verge of saying, “Goodbye, Kyle!” The Beverly Beach founder was shocked when Kyle revealed the root of the issues stemmed from BravoCon. Dorit felt she had made a simple joke, but Kyle took her words to heart. Since then, all hell has broken out. But Dorit no longer keeps her starring role as the wallflower.
During an earlier episode, Dorit raged against her former friend, noting, “I’m pissed. I am not happy, and we’ve got sh*t to talk about.” Even though Dorit tried to use her words, years of unbridled rage spilled out. And let me tell you, as a fan, I was here for it. Even though Kyle might not have been prepared for the pushback, Dorit made a solid argument. She told her former friend, “You’ve made me feel like, ‘Is this friendship even worth fighting for?’ Let alone being walked all over for.”
Dorit Kemsley is finally giving a solid storyline
For years, all fans have wanted was for Dorit to deliver a narrative that didn’t bore us to death. Well, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers finally got their wish. Dorit has stepped up in a major way. She is not only addressing her problems with Kyle, but she is also talking about her separation from PK. Even though I think Bravo might have backed Dorit into a corner, she understood the assignment and agreed to be transparent. She no longer faces a dreaded downgrade to ‘friend of’ and is the center of the drama.
I never knew I needed to see an activated Dorit on the franchise. But she is playing the part well. Previously, Kyle, Lisa Vanderpump, and the rest needed Dorit and her scattered alliance to keep storyboards moving forward and passing gossip along. But now that she is sticking up for herself and no longer taking orders, fans are seeing a Dorit that is edgy and raw. I can only hope that Dorit keeps that drama at a ten and demands answers for why she was wronged. One thing is certain: she needs to be on Santa’s nice list this year and given an extra gift or two for carrying this season thus far.
