Okay, so there isn’t much to take from that video, but Poirier dissected the fight on the UFC 314 post-show, and he gave “The Baddy” a lot of praise.

No, I [didn’t think he was the real deal]. I thought he was a goofy-looking guy with a silly haircut that people were getting behind like a fad- Like, this is fun, this cheer this goofy-looking guy on,” Poirier revealed. “But when you have a perfect storm like this, where you are the goofy guy and you say these things and go out there and win fights, you can become a massive star.”

“He went from a prospect to a contender tonight. He’s a Lightweight contender now,” Poirier added.

There’s a real scenario where Pimblett is a fight away from competing for a Lightweight championship, which is pretty wild to think about.

Especially if he fights Charles Oliveira next.

The same cannot be said about Chandler, who is now 2-6 inside the Octagon and has lost three straight fights.

“The Diamond” also had some thoughts on his former opponent.

“This whole week, we were talking about his back being against the wall…the crossroad reference, I think that’s what it was,” Poirier said. “We saw him lose again tonight, not just lose but get rolled by a young guy. That was a beating.”

“He had some success with the wrist ride; he won the first round but did not look like himself in the second round. He didn’t look sturdy on his feet,” Poirier concluded. “He looked like he was slowing down and we don’t ever see him slow down in the second round. He looks great and is in phenomenal shape, but these years catch up to you.”
