Filmmaker and husband to Aubrey Plaza, Jeff Baena, dies by suicide: report

Film writer and director Jeff Baena, who is also known for his marriage to Hollywood actress Aubrey Plaza, has died at the age of 47 according to a report.

The news was initially reported by TMZ. According to the outlet, Baena was found dead by an assistant at about 10:30 a.m. on Friday at a Los Angeles-area home.

Baena reportedly died by suicide.

His directorial debut came in 2014 with “Life After Beth,” starring Dane DeHaan, John C. Reilly and Plaza. He was also known for his work on “The Little Hours” and “Horse Girl,” which he wrote and produced in addition to directing.

Baena dated Plaza for nearly a decade before their wedding in 2020. They announced their marriage in 2021.

As of Saturday morning, Plaza, 40, was yet to make any public statements in regards to her husband’s passing.
