‘Thug Nasty’ has not been a popular figure in recent months which built towards a huge featherweight clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
Regardless of his current relationship with the fans, Bryce Mitchell has proven himself to be a legitimate contender at 145-pounds in the past despite suffering some tough losses.
The controversial figure was beaten for the third time inside the Octagon on Saturday night where Jean Silva submitted Mitchell in the second round.
Mitchell has already spoken about the result as he looks to learn from this setback where the spotlight was certainly hanging over him on April 12.
The 30-year-old didn’t have a ton of supporters behind him both before and after this fight but there was one notable name in particular who rallied behind him in defeat.

Some thought that Bryce Mitchell might be able to pose a significant threat to Jean Silva at UFC 314 but this was not the way that the fight ended up playing out.
The charismatic Fighting Nerd was as chaotic and entertaining as always with the Brazilian having plenty of fun inside the Octagon before wrapping up a ninja choke to earn a performance of the night bonus with his fifth consecutive win inside the Octagon.
A lot of the reactions from fight fans on social media showed that people were happy with the outcome which isn’t surprising for several reasons.
Not only is Silva becoming a huge fan favorite on the roster since debuting in January last year, Mitchell has been at the center of a storm of criticism due to his controversial beliefs and opinions.
Marvin Vettori clearly doesn’t share the same reaction as he weighed in with his takeaway from the fight on social media.
The former middleweight title challenger shared a message of support for Mitchell which was largely a collector’s item after what went down in Miami.
“Bryce stand tall Jesus the way the truth and the life now and always”
Following the comments that landed Bryce Mitchell in hot water, UFC president Dana White was openly critical of ‘Thug Nasty’.
Despite this, the UFC boss did compliment the American in his post-event press conference for going ahead with this matchup and putting it all on the line regardless of everything that was happening around him.
“I’ll tell you what I’ll say about Bryce Mitchell. You know what happened and you know, he’s a grown man. He stood his ground, he came out and faced the media several times, came in here and fought and I’m sure a lot of moments he’s had leading up to this fight, including tonight in the cage, he felt like his back was against the wall and he stood up like a man and he fought and did his thing.”
It certainly appears that ‘Thug Nasty’ is going nowhere right now despite having a tough night at the office on April 12.
