Striker Nicolas Stefanelli admitted feeling worried as soon as he heard that superstar Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami.

“When the news came out, we couldn’t believe it,” Stefanelli told Fox Sports . “We thought it was a lie. We don’t believe it, we say it won’t happen. I didn’t believe Messi would come here until I actually met him. Thinking back, until now, I still don’t understand what happened.”
The midfielder born in 1994 was confused and didn’t know whether to shake hands, kiss or hug Messi. “I want to do it all,” he added. Finally, I kissed him and we started talking.”
Stefanelli also said that he has not seen Leo communicate in English. “I’m still waiting,” revealed Leo’s fellow player. It is known that many players speak Spanish – the official language of Argentina, at Inter Miami.
Messi has just arrived at the airport in Rosario (Argentina) to board a trip to Miami (USA). The reigning Ballon d’Or holder ended his longest mid-season break since he started playing professionally.
For nearly two months, Messi has mainly appeared in Argentina. He celebrated Christmas and New Year with his family in his hometown of Rosario. Leo also wore his shoes on the field a few times in friendly matches.
Messi helped Inter Miami win the Federation Cup championship as soon as he arrived in the US. However, the former PSG star has bigger ambitions in 2024. He wants to help the host club win more titles and enter the MLS 2024 play-off round. Not to mention, the 2024 Copa America is also waiting for Messi.
In the immediate future, Messi and Inter Miami will participate in a friendly match against Cristiano Ronaldo ‘s Al Nasr on February 2.
