How to watch the Detroit Tigers’ home opener for free

The boys of summer are finally coming home, as the Detroit Tigers are set to open the home portion of their 2025 season on Friday afternoon against the Chicago White Sox.

The Tigers got off to a rocky start to the new year, losing all three games to Shohei Ohtani and the defending World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers. However, Detroit bounced back in the latter half of their West Coast trip, taking two of three from the Seattle Mariners earlier this week, though they squandered the chance at a sweep with their loss on Wednesday.

The Tigers return to Comerica Park, where they were exceptional last season. Of their 81 home affairs, the Bengals went 43-38, including winning some big games late to clinch a playoff spot for the first time in a decade.

Detroit welcomes the Chicago White Sox, the team that set the record for most losses in an MLB season. The White Sox are off to a similar start to the Tigers, losing four of their first six games.
