A popular Hulu series has been renewed for season 3. The streaming platform, which debuted in 2007, was originally developed as a service for watching recent episodes of traditionally broadcast series online. While this aspect of the platform’s original intent remains to a certain degree, thanks to their partnership with FX, they have since begun to operate as a more typical streaming service, offering licensed movies and television shows alongside original programming. The platform is now owned by Disney and their library features a great deal of crossover with Disney+.
It wasn’t until 2011 that Hulu original series began to debut on the platform, followed by original scripted shows in 2012. Over the years, they have debuted many shows that were both critical and commercial successes. This includes the Margaret Atwood adaptation The Handmaid’s Tale, which has won 15 Emmys and two Golden globes, the restaurant dramedy The Bear, which has 21 Emmys and four Golden Globes, and the mystery comedy Only Murders in the Building, which has seven Emmys. There are even more well-regarded original shows on their roster, including one that has just been renewed.

Tell Me Lies will return. The 2000s-set Hulu drama is based on the 2018 Carola Lovering novel of the same name and follows many years of a romance between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), who meet at the fictional Baird College in New York. The Tell Me Lies cast also includes Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Benjamin Wadsworth, Alicia Crowder, and Tom Ellis. Season 1, which premiered in 2022, and season 2, which debuted in 2024, have an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 75%.
Grace Van Patten is also known for her role as Zoe Marconi in the Hulu original series Nine Perfect Strangers .
Per TheWrap, Hulu has officially renewed Tell Me Lies season 3. Creator, showrunner, and executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer is attached to the new season, though details about the cast and storyline of the upcoming episodes are still tightly under wraps. This news comes just two months after the season 2 finale debuted on October 16.

So far, both seasons have premiered in early September and ended in late October. Season 2 was originally renewed in November 2022, just a month after season 1 ended on October 26, indicating that season 3 could be set for a consistent release pattern that may see it premiere in September 2026. However, it could come even earlier, as season 2 was delayed amid the dual Hollywood strikes in 2023.
