Jodie Foster had a big night at the 2025 Golden Globes, but she wasn’t the only one in her family to shine.

On Sunday, January 5, the 62-year-old Hollywood icon — who won Best Female Actor in a Limited Series for her role on True Detective: Night Country as Chief Liz Danvers — brought her youngest son, Kit Bernard Foster, 23, as her date to the event. Jodie shares Kit and her older son, Charlie Bernard Foster, 26, with her former partner, Cydney Bernard.

While on the red carpet, pictures were snapped of the mother-son duo beaming together. The Panic Room actress wore a sleeveless black dress with a beaded collar and matching lining around her arms. Kit, who towered over his mom, looked sharp in a navy suit paired with a polka-dot bowtie and tortoiseshell glasses.

During her acceptance speech, Jodie didn’t miss a chance to shout out her loved ones. “I just want to thank my family,” she said. “Because Kit, my scientist son, and Charlie, my actor son who’s starting his career, hopefully you understand the joy, such joy, that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work.”

The Silence of the Lambs star wrapped up her speech with a nod to her wife, Alexandra Hedison, who also attended the event. “So my boys, I love you, and this, of course, is for you — and the love of my life, Alex, thank you forever,” she added.

Jodie and Hedison tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2014 after dating for nearly a year. The couple maintains a private relationship but occasionally shares moments of support, like when Hedison congratulated her sweetheart on her 2021 Golden Globe win.

“Every day I’m a proud wife but today you get a special shout out in the remote land of IG,” the former actress wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’m shouting from the rooftops. Congratulations to you.”

In addition to throwing love to her family, Jodie expressed gratitude to the True Detective: Night Country team. She praised showrunner Issa Lopez, co-star Kali Reis, and the Indigenous communities who inspired the series, saying, “They changed my life and hopefully they’ll change yours.”
