“The Six Triple Eight” is based on a true story and follows the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory — the only Women’s Army Corps unit of color stationed in Europe during World War II. Under the duress and fear of discrimination, 855 women joined the efforts during the war to fix a three-year backlog of undelivered mail. The film streams on Netflix on Friday.
