Kylie Jenner revives Elizabeth Hurley’s Versace dress at Golden Globes 2025: ‘90s royalty with a modern twist’

Kylie Jenner seems to be sourcing style inspiration from none other than Elizabeth Hurley.

Last night at the Golden Globes 2025, the Khy founder, 27, channeled the British actress, 59, in a silver chainmail number from Atelier Versace’s spring 1999 collection.

Nearly 30 years ago, Hurley wore a lilac version of the same slinky gown at the CFDA Awards 1999, which she attended as her then-boyfriend Hugh Grant’s date.

She was romantically linked to Grant from 1987 to 2000.

Likewise, Jenner was in attendance at the awards show to support her beau, Timothée Chalamet, who was nominated for best actor in a musical or comedy for his portrayal of Bob Dylan in “A Complete Unknown.”

The mother of two collaborated with stylists Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist on the archival look, which boasted a plunging neckline and low back.

Jenner followed Hurley’s lead by skipping a necklace and bracelets, instead opting for chunky stud earrings and enormous diamond rings, all by Lorraine Schwartz.

Her boyfriend, too, dressed to impress last night, arriving in a custom Tom Ford look, which included a black suit, white striped button-down and blue polka-dotted skinny scarf.

The actor offered a first peek at what’s to come from the label’s newly-appointed creative director, Haider Ackermann, with whom both Jenner and Chalamet have a close working relationship.

Fans couldn’t help but notice that the Kylie Cosmetics founder, who is swiftly becoming a Golden Globes fixture, nodded to Hurley at last year’s ceremony, too.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “okay kylie jenner i see u referencing elizabeth hurley at awards shows with her then bf hugh grant in the 90s and honestly #iloveit”

Fans also pointed out how Jenner’s black lace catsuit from last year’s Golden Globes nodded to another one of Hurley’s ’90s looks. Golden Globes 2024 via Getty Images

The post compared the two aforementioned Versace moments, as well as Jenner’s vintage see-through lace catsuit by Hanae Mori and Hurley’s similar-looking black lace look from 1997.

Hurley rocked the skin-baring number to Elizabeth Taylor’s “Happy Birthday Elizabeth: A Celebration of Life” television special, which she attended with Grant.

Meanwhile, a second fan shared a similar thought on X, captioning a post with images of the two stars, “Kylie Jenner really can’t help but channel Elizabeth Hurley vibes every time she steps out with Timothée Chalamet. From red carpets to couple moments, it’s giving 90s royalty with a modern twist. #LisLove”

At the ceremony last night, Jenner skipped the red carpet and headed inside to sit next to Chalamet, as well as his “A Complete Unknown” costars Elle Fanning and Monica Barbaro.

The couple, who have been dating for two years, packed on plenty of PDA during the show, with the “Kardashians” star adorably taking pics of her leading man and selfies with Fanning and Barbaro.

We hope that Jenner will be by Chalamet’s side during the entire 2025 awards season — in statement-making couture, of course.
