The show follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), the ‘landman’ for a fictional Texas oil and gas company called M Tex.
The show begins with Tommy divorced from his wife Angela (Ali Larter), though they would ultimately reconcile and live together with their 17-year-old daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph).
After reconciling with Tommy and spitting from her ex, Angela, in need of something to do, decides to visit a senior living facility, and spices up their lives with alcohol and card games, which may continue if the show gets a second season.
While her actions were frowned upon by the staff, the seniors loved it, leading to her volunteering regularly and using their sprinter van for field trips.
Sunday’s season finale brought Angela’s antics to a whole new level when she took them all to a strip club – and had her daughter’s high school quarterback boyfriend Ryder (Mitchell Slaggert) dance in a jock strap only for the senior ladies, which disgusted many fans.

The scene – which took place early on in the 80-minute episode – began by showing that Angela even had EMT’s from the senior facility on standby, in case their hearts gave out.
While the older men were all having a blast, Ethel was upset seeing all these younger women around her.
Angela was seen giving everyone a wad of $20 bills to give the dancers, while Ethel was upset there were no men, before Ainsley surprised him with Ryder.
While Ethel didn’t believe Ainsley that she would like the dancer she had for her, Ethel was thrilled as Ryder danced away for her and the other ladies.
Angela even commented that Ryder was a ‘keeper’ for doing all this just for Ainsley, as her daughter made good on her part of the deal later that night.
Some fans found the humor in that scene, though many others were ‘disgusted’ that the show would showcase that.
