Olivia Rodrigo, Luke Combs, Avril Lavigne, Hozier and Vampire Weekend will headline this summer’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Fest.
Why it matters: Bonnaroo is one of the biggest live music festivals in the country, and it’s an important economic engine for the region. This year’s festival takes place June 12-15.
The intrigue: The lineup is extremely genre-diverse, as underscored by Combs’ name at the top of the poster.
- Combs has graduated to headlining football stadiums, so he’s clearly worthy of top billing. But he also represents the rare country star to headline Bonnaroo.
- He’s listed as the headliner for Thursday night.
- While Combs brings the country vibes, Friday will be headlined by hip-hop artist Tyler, the Creator.
Fun fact: The Saturday lineup is headlined by two artists with similar career paths.
- Rodrigo and Lavigne both combined elements of pop and punk to climb to the top of music industry.
- The Sunday lineup leans into rock. In addition to pop-rock crooner Hozier, rock veterans Vampire Weekend and Queens of the Stone Age will perform.
If you go: Bonnaroo promoted a sale beginning Thursday at 10am, when the guaranteed lowest-priced four-day passes will be available.
