Mangled Michael Chandler rushed backstage following Paddy Pimblett loss at UFC 314, Dana White reacts (Video)

Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler endured a savage beatdown from U.K. phenom Paddy Pimblett, succumbing to relentless ground-and-pound at UFC 314 last night (Sat., April 12, 2025) at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida (watch highlights).

“Iron” Mike didn’t linger in the Octagon after the stoppage. Instead, he was whisked backstage for urgent medical attention to stitch up his face.

Pimblett unleashed a devastating flying knee that sliced open Chandler’s cheek, blood pouring instantly. The onslaught continued for several grueling minutes, deepening the gash and forcing a rapid exit for treatment.

UFC CEO Dana White reacted to Chandler’s loss during the UFC 314 post-fight press conference (watch here).

“He’s always in the fight, but tonight was a big night for Paddy Pimblett,” White told reporters. “Chandler is like our Arturo Gatti, man. Every time that guy goes in, you know you’re in for a good fight, and you know it’s going to be a war. And you don’t know if he’s going to win or lose.”
