Actress Cindyana Santangelo, a ’90s sitcom star and model best known for her role on Married… with Children, has died. She was 58.
On the primetime TV show, which aired from 1987 to 1997, Santangelo played an exotic dancer named Sierra Madre who worked at The Jiggly Room, where Ed O’Neill’s Al Bundy often hung out. In her most memorable scene, she showed off a tattoo of her boyfriend’s name, inspiring Bundy’s straight-laced neighbor, Jefferson, to get a tattoo of his wife’s name, Marcy.

The hit sitcom also starred Katey Sagal as Al’s wife, Peggy Bundy, and Christina Applegate and David Faustino as their children, Kelly and Bud, respectively.
Santangelo also appeared on ER, and later, CSI: Miami.
TMZ was the first to report the actress’s death on Tuesday, March 25, after Santangelo was rushed to the hospital the previous day, when she was pronounced dead. An advisory from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department obtained by People and also published March 25, reported that authorities responded to a “medical emergency” in the actresses’ Malibu home.
No cause of death has been confirmed. But according to the advisory, homicide investigators are doing a routine investigation.
After a small part on ER, Santangelo went on to score a role on CSI: Miami. In her episode, called “The Oath,” Horatio Caine — the main character played by David Caruso — tries to prove the innocence of a patrolman found dead far from where he was supposed to be.
In addition to her time on TV, Santangelo starred in the music video for Young MC’s hit “Bust a Move.” She was a featured dancer, moving solo during some key parts of the video while sporting dark sunglasses, a severe bob, and booty shorts with stop signs on the back pockets.
According to her IMDb page, Santangelo was nicknamed the “Latin Marilyn Monroe” by Perry Farrel of Jane’s Addiction in the music magazine Spin.
