NBA, NFL Stars React to LeBron James Clowning Stephen A. Smith After Lakers Game

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith might have trouble sleeping in the next few days after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Indiana Pacers with a game-winner courtesy of LeBron James on Wednesday.

James tipped in the miss of Luka Doncic as time expired to give the Lakers the one-point victory, 120-119. They ended their three-game losing skid and improved to 44-28.

The four-time MVP had a pedestrian showing with only 13 points on 4-of-12 shooting but made the biggest play of the evening. He also added 13 rebounds and seven assists.

After the game, James made sure to clown Smith, with whom he continues to have beef with. On Instagram, he posted a video of the controversial host looking goofy while boxing.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 WHOMP WHOMP WHOMPPPPPPPP,” wrote James.

It immediately broke the internet, with 1.3 million likes as of writing.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson and former NBA players Isaiah Thomas and Stephen Jackson all commented tears of joy emojis.

Washington Wizards center Richaun Holmes was more articulate with his reaction.

“LMAOOOOOO,” wrote Holmes.

Even NFL players couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, and free agent tight end Jody Fortson Jr. also commented tears of joy emojis.

Rams center Steve Avila had a two-word reaction: “No way 💀💀.”

The 40-year-old James roasted the 57-year-old Smith on “The Pat McAfee Show,” describing him as having a “Taylor Swift tour run” with his flip-flopping remarks.

Smith, who has never uttered a take he didn’t like, hit back and called the Lakers forward a liar. For the piece de resistance, he added that he would’ve “immediately swung on” James had the future Hall of Famer touched him during their viral confrontation a few weeks ago.

There might only be one way to settle this: With a meme from Miami Heat forward Kevin Love.
