Following the Baltimore Ravens’ dominant 31-2 win over the Houston Texans on Christmas Day, star quarterback Lamar Jackson greatly improved his chances to win his second straight and third career NFL MVP award.
Jackson’s odds for this season’s MVP increased to +180 on DraftKings Sportsbook, maintaining his second-place status behind Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen (-240) and ahead of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley (+1400).
Before Wednesday’s win, Jackson’s odds were at +400 for the MVP award. He produced 168 yards and two touchdowns on 10-of-15 passing while adding four carries for 87 yards and a touchdown that came off a 48-yard scamper. He also passed Michael Vick for the most career rushing yards by a quarterback in NFL history.
While Allen has emerged as the favorite to take home his first career MVP award, it’s hard to overlook Jackson. The 27-year-old has been performing at a higher level than his two previous MVP campaigns.

At 11-5, the Ravens can win the AFC North by defeating the Cleveland Browns (3-12) in Week 18, which would surely boost Jackson’s chances of surpassing Allen for this year’s MVP award.
