📝Final notes📝

The 2024-25 NBA regular season is in the books, and the postseason field is set.

The Nuggets, Clippers, Timberwolves, and Kings all pulled off key victories today.

Denver’s win secured them the No. 4 seed and homecourt in the first round.

The Clippers win earned them the No. 5 spot and a showdown with the Nuggets.

Minnesota beating Utah moved them out of the SoFi Play-In tournament and gave them the No. 6 seed. They’ll meet the Lakers in round one.

The Kings’ win secured them the No. 9 seed and homecourt against the Mavericks in a win-or-go-home SoFi Play-In matchup.

The Warriors, who lost to the Clippers, will now fall to the No. 7 seed and host the Grizzlies in a SoFi Play-In game Tuesday night. The winner of that game will have a first-round date with the Rockets, while the loser will meet the winner of the Kings and Mavericks game in a win-or-go-home matchup.

The Eastern Conference field was already set coming into today.

🎉Bonus basketball🎉

This Clippers and Warriors game has been nothing less than phenomenal, and now we’re getting at least five more minutes of it as they’re headed to overtime knotted up at 111.

Curry has been electric in the fourth, scoring 18 points in the final frame, including two key triples, one with just over three minutes remaining to tie it, and one with just under two minutes remaining that gave them a four point lead, bring their total to 111, which they finished the quarter with.

The Timberwolves got a massive 43-point performance from Edwards, who also grabbed six boards, dished out five dimes, and secured three steals in a 116-105 win over Utah.

With the win, they can finish no worse than No. 6 in the West, and as high as No. 5, if the Warriors beat the Clippers.

⚠️What’s at stake today⚠️

Today marks the end of the regular season and the season as a whole for several teams who failed to make the playoffs or secure a Play-In berth.

With the Eastern Conference Playoff field settled, it is expected that many teams will choose to rest players for game 82 and ensure they enter the postseason rested and as healthy as possible.

Unlike the East, the Western Conference has much left to be determined.

What we know:

The Suns, Trail Blazers, Jazz, Spurs, and Pelicans have all been eliminated from contention.

The Grizzlies will be a SoFi Play-In team with either the No. 7 or 8 seed.

The Kings and Mavericks will be SoFi Play-In teams, with one earning the No. 9 spot and the other earning the No. 10 spot.

The Thunder (No. 1), Rockets (No. 2), and Lakers (No. 3) are locked into their seeding.

Scenarios to watch for in today’s games:

Nuggets at Rockets: The Nuggets would clinch the 4 seed with a win and can drop as low as 6th with a loss.

Clippers at Warriors: A Clippers win can clinch the 4 seed (with a DEN loss) or the 5 seed (with a DEN win). A Clippers loss can drop them as low as 7th (with DEN and MIN wins). A Warriors win clinches the 6 seed. A Warriors loss can drop them to 7th (with a MIN win)

Jazz at Timberwolves: A Wolves win clinches a Playoff berth. The Wolves can finish as high as 4th with a win and as low as 8th with a loss (with a Memphis win)

Mavericks at Grizzlies: The Grizzlies can finish as high as 7th with a win (and MIN loss) or as low as 8th (with a loss OR a MIN win). The Mavs can finish 9th with a win (and SAC loss) or 10th (with a loss OR SAC win)

Suns at Kings: The Kings clinch 9 seed with a win but can drop to 10th with a loss (and DAL win)
