Ohio Stadium will be a vision in red when the Buckeyes host Tennessee in a College Football Playoff matchup on Saturday. A Scarlet Glow is just one-way OSU is lighting up Ohio Stadium over the weekend.
Scarlet LEDs have been installed around every part of the stadium and will shine down on the field, on the fans in the stands, and above The Shoe. You’ll even be able to see the glow while driving on 315.
The team behind the scenes said they believe the glow will send a statement to Tennessee and the team’s fans.
“I think they will realize that it’s really going to be Buckeye home game,” Associate AD of Marketing and Live Events Caleb Clark said. “That scarlet glow and the feel of everything is going to energize Buckeye fans and energize the team as well.”
Fans will also get to witness a historic moment on Saturday. The largest drone show in college athletics history will take place between the third and fourth quarters.
The show, which is being produced by the company Sky Elements, will include 500 drones that will fly 550 feet above the south video board at the stadium.

“The drone show is going to go up during ‘Hang on Sloopy,’ so there might be something you say during that song that you might see on the drones,” Clark hinted. “The drones will also form into a CFP logo and two Ohio State formations.”
Clark said fans will also see a laser show projection Friday night at the rotunda and Saturday during the game.
“The rotunda will be lit red and there will be a few elements that will be shot up there from lasers,” Clark said. “Also, the home team tunnel is going to be lit up with lasers for the team entrances.”
It will certainly be a history night at The Shoe.
