Good Tuesday afternoon! It was a damp and gloomy start to our Tuesday. Areas north of I-20 remained overcast for much of the day, while areas to the south enjoyed the afternoon sunshine. Temperatures will gradually fall into the 50s overnight, with areas of fog developing.
A band of rain and thunder will arrive Wednesday afternoon across northwest Alabama first, then shifting southeast during the evening hours. Rain amounts will remain mostly less than 0.30″ with this round. Severe weather is not expected.
Dry and cooler weather will begin to filter in on Thursday. Expect an afternoon high between 57 and 60. Skies will become sunny quickly on Thursday.
Friday through the weekend will feature plenty of sun. Temperatures will reach the mid 50s on Friday and lower 50s on Saturday. Overnight lows will dip a little below freezing, with many spots in the 28 to 31 degree range Friday night through Sunday night.
