Rams vs. Jets score, takeaways: Los Angeles stays hot vs. New York, inches closer to securing NFC West title

It goes from bad to worse for the Jets as they muffed a punt to give the Rams the ball back what likely just run out the clock.

And the 49-yard attempt by Carlson is no good. Rams get the ball and hold a 10-point lead at the two-minute warning.

Zero urgency for the Jets right now.

Karty’s 45-yard field goal is good and it’s now a two-possession game with the Rams up, 19-9.

Another failed fourth-down attempt by the Jets. The Rams will now get the ball at the New York 47-yard line.

The CBS broadcast shows Fashanu being carted to the locker room. Brutal for the No. 11 overall pick.

Jets first-round rookie lineman Olu Fashanu is being looked at by the medical staff on the field.

Rodgers is out of the tent and has his helmet, so it doesn’t appear he’ll miss a snap.

The Rams are now ahead thanks to Matthew Stafford connecting with Tyler Higbee for the 11-yard touchdown. It’s a 16-9 lead for Los Angeles.

Rodgers is now in the blue medical tent, per the CBS broadcast.

Tyrod Taylor is warming up on the sideline, but Rodgers hasn’t gone into the blue medical tent yet.

Massive swing. Rodgers fumbles on a third-and-7 play and it was recovered by Jared Verse. Rodgers was slow to get up.

Karty’s 38-yard field goal is good and we’re knotted up at 9 apiece with 12:44 to play in regulation.

Jets secondary takes a big hit.

Pretty generous spot to give Nacua the first down, in my opinion. A lot closer than the officials seemed to indicate.

Jets defensive back Tony Adams is down on the field after that 9-yard run by Kyren Williams.

Crazy that the previous Jets drive took just under 10 minutes off the clock.

The Jets keep their foot on the gas on fourth down, keeping the offense on the field from the Rams 13-yard line. However, the throw to Adams falls incomplete, giving L.A. the ball back. Might have elected for the field goal there.

Yikes. Back-to-back penalties are moving New York in the wrong direction.

Great fake by Rodgers. Had everyone fooled on the play-action to Breece Hall and had a wide-open Tyler Conklin.

The Jets didn’t have a great conversion percentage on third down in the first half, but it seemed like all the conversions did come in key situations. Got another one there, moving the chain on third-and-long.

Davante Adams was a bit slow to get up after failing to grab that touchdown pass from Rodgers. Will be worth monitoring him in the second half.

Oddly enough. Both extra points attempted by these teams have been no good. It’s 6-6. The wind doesn’t appear to be a factor, but maybe the cold is. We did see Sean McVay elect to punt instead of kick a field goal on the opening drive.

It took Los Angeles just three plays to cash in on the failed fourth-down conversion by New York.
