The reboot of ’80s BBC drama Bergerac has been given a 2025 release window.
It’s been announced that the revival is coming to the channel U&Drama and streaming service U (formerly UKTV Play) in February, while a new teaser trailer has dropped, too.
The footage showcases our new Bergerac, played by Being Human and Brassic actor Damien Molony, as a washed-up detective haunted by flashbacks of a tragic past. We also get a lot of waves crashing up against the jagged rocks of the coastline, for good measure.

There are also some brief glimpses of other cast members, including My Family‘s Zoë Wanamaker, Ashes to Ashes‘ Philip Glenister and Big Boys‘ Robert Gilbert.
The official synopsis gives us a bit more information, reading: “Viewers first meet Jim Bergerac as a broken man, battling his demons and on leave after the death of his wife.
“But when a member of one of Jersey’s wealthiest families is murdered, Chief of Police Uma Dalal (Sasha Behar) wants their best detective on the case. Bergerac returns to work to help him become the formidable detective he once was, whilst also trying to prove to his daughter Kim (Sweetlove) and mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (Wanamaker) that his life is back on track.

“The Wakefields, led by patriarch and businessman Arthur (Glenister), are keeping their cards close to their chests, whilst a man from Bergerac’s past resurfaces to make a shocking accusation. Is Bergerac up to the job?”
The six-part series serves as a bit of Being Human reunion, as the BBC Three show’s creator Toby Whithouse serves as one of the writers, alongside Torchwood‘s Catherine Tregenna, Sirens‘ Brian Fillis and A Discovery of Witches‘ Polly Buckle. Peaky Blinders‘ Colm McCarthy helmed the action as director.
The Bergerac reboot will air on U&Drama in February 2025.
