Ronaldo is about to reach a milestone that ‘no one can do’ in history

Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on an incredible milestone after scoring in the opening game of the season between Al Nassr vs Al-Taawoun.

Ronaldo had a difficult Euro 2024 campaign with Portugal, providing just one assist in five games. The Selecao were eliminated in the quarter-finals, losing on penalties to France. He has been out of action since then, only returning to Al Nassr recently.

His first match back was the Saudi Super Cup semi-final against Al-Taawoun in the early hours of August 15. Al Nassr dominated the game, with Ayman Yahya giving them the lead in the eighth minute before Cristiano Ronaldo made it 2-0 in the 57th minute. Marcelo Brozovic was sent off in the third minute of stoppage time, but that did not affect the outcome of the match.

Accordingly, Ronaldo’s goal against Al-Taawon was his 896th goal for club and country (only in official matches). He is only 4 goals away from the incredible milestone of 900 goals. The striker born in 1985 is currently the player with the most goals in football history.

Ronaldo will certainly be looking to get closer to that milestone when Al Nassr take on Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup final on August 17 at 11:15pm (Vietnam time). The Knights of Njad lost to Al-Hilal in the King’s Cup of Champions final earlier this year and will be keen for revenge.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the two greatest players of all time, along with Lionel Messi. However, the 39-year-old is now nearing the end of his career. He will leave European football in 2022 after leaving Manchester United and joining Al Nassr.

Ronaldo also stated that Euro 2024 would be his last international tournament. However, CR7 has not retired and there has been speculation that he will hang up his boots after the 2026 World Cup.
