Seven ejected after Pistons, Timberwolves get into dust-up

Minneapolis — In Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Detroit Pistons were involved in a significant altercation.

At the 8:36 mark of the second quarter, rookie Ron Holland II engaged in a physical confrontation with Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo of the Timberwolves.

Holland fouled Reid, who was driving to the basket, and Reid began pointing at Holland, before DiVincenzo stepped in between the two players. The dust-up ensued, with Holland and DiVincenzo wrestling and going into the first rows of seats under the basket.

The fracas resulted in multiple ejections for the Pistons, after Marcus Sasser and Isaiah Stewart received technical fouls and were removed from the game, along with Holland. In addition to the players, coach J.B. Bickerstaff received his second ejection of the season, after he got involved in a confrontation with Minnesota’s assistant coach Pablo Prigioni, who was also ejected.

Stewart pointed to the “Detroit” printed on the front of his jersey, implying the toughness the squad was bringing.

This is a developing story; please check back for updates.
