An incredible defensive effort wasn’t enough to overcome an offensive struggle in a 53-51 loss at No. 1 Auburn when Tigers guard Miles Kelly knocked down an open corner three to give them a one-point lead with 30 seconds remaining.
The Volunteers shot 31% from the floor (17-of-54) and 18% from the three-point line (4-of-222) in their third loss of SEC play. Tennessee’s 51 points were the second-fewest its scored this season.
