GOOD SUNDAY EVENING TO YOU. I’M MADISON ELLIOTT. NOW WE’VE SEEN A GREAT DEAL OF SEVERE WEATHER IN THE AREA TONIGHT. OUR TORNADO WATCH WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR LOUISVILLE AND MUCH OF THE WLKY VIEWING AREA UNTIL 3 A.M. CHIEF METEOROLOGIST JAY CARDOSI HAS BEEN TRACKING THE STORM SYSTEM ALL NIGHT AND JOINS US NOW FROM THE WLKY WEATHER CENTER. JAY MADISON, THANKS SO VERY MUCH. IT’S BEEN KIND OF A ROUGH AFTERNOON AND ESPECIALLY EVENING FOR MANY FOLKS HERE IN THE WLKY VIEWING AREA. ERIC SUSANNE HORGAN MYSELF TRACKING THESE SEVERE STORMS FOR THE LAST SEVERAL HOURS AS THEY’VE BEEN MOVING IN FROM THE WEST, CAUSING SOME DAMAGE, SOME WIND DAMAGE. WE’VE HAD SOME HAIL REPORTS AND WE HAD QUITE A FEW TORNADO WARNINGS, LITTLE TORNADO SPIN UPS, AT LEAST THE POSSIBILITY FOR THOSE AS THESE STORMS SWEPT ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE VIEWING AREA. SO HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. FIRST, THE THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER HAS ENDED IN THE METRO. IT HAS ENDED FOR BASICALLY 90% OF THE VIEWING AREA. STILL LIGHT TO AT TIMES MODERATE RAINFALL AROUND JEFFERSON COUNTY. SURROUNDING REGIONS, BUT NO MORE SEVERE WEATHER. WE ARE DONE AS WE PULL OUT AND TAKE A LOOK AT THE VIEWING AREA. YOU LOOK REAL CLOSE. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS STILL ONGOING. BASICALLY, SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF OF KENTUCKY SOUTH OF LEXINGTON DOWN THE I 75 CORRIDOR. OUR FAR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES STILL SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ONGOING. A STORM THAT’S NOW MOVING ACROSS PORTIONS OF HART COUNTY THAT IS SEVERE. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED DOWN THAT WAY TO INCLUDE YOU FOLKS IN PLACES LIKE MUNFORDVILLE, BONNIEVILLE, DOWN TO THE HARDEEVILLE AREA. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SOME PRETTY HIGH WINDS MOVING ACROSS THE I-65 CORRIDOR IN HART COUNTY. THIS LINE SEGMENT IS SWEEPING OFF TO THE EAST, AND IF IT MAINTAINS ITS INTENSITY, WE COULD SEE SOME PRETTY STRONG WINDS IN GREENE COUNTY, TAYLOR COUNTY, AND PERHAPS ADAIR COUNTY AS WELL. NO MORE TORNADO WARNINGS ACROSS THE VIEWING AREA, AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE THREAT FOR TORNADOES WILL SLOWLY BE DROPPING OFF THE REST OF THE OVERNIGHT. AS WE KIND OF PULL BACK OUT, TAKE A LOOK AT ALL OF THE VIEWING AREA, PUT THINGS IN MOTION. YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT POWERFUL LINE WAS SWEEPING FROM WEST TO EAST EARLIER. NOW MOVING OUT OF THE VIEWING AREA JUST ABOUT AGAIN. IT’S OUR FAR SOUTHERN COMMUNITIES. HART, GREEN, TAYLOR, ADAIR COUNTIES. WE’LL HAVE TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR FOR ABOUT THE NEXT 30 TO 60 MINUTES. AND ONCE THAT LINE SEGMENT CLEARS, OUR SOUTHEASTERN COMMUNITIES, THAT’S IT. EVERYWHERE FOR THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT. BUT CERTAINLY, YES, NORTH OF THE PARKWAYS, THE METRO, ALL OF SOUTHERN INDIANA UP THE I-71 CORRIDOR. WE ARE DONE WITH THE STRONG AND SEVERE STORMS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS SUNDAY. OVERNIGHT, QUITE A BIT OF HEAVY RAIN, THOUGH. MADISON AND SOME REPORTS OF POWER OUTAGES. AS I MENTIONED, SOME HAIL. SO AGAIN, WE’LL CONTINUE TO GET ALL THOSE REPORTS INTO THE WEATHER CENTER, INTO OUR NEWSROOM AS THE NIGHT WEARS ON THROUGH TOMORROW. SO WE’LL COMPILE A LIST AS TO EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED. BUT YEAH, THIS WAS A PRETTY MEAN LINE OF STORMS. AND HAVING SAID THAT, EVEN THOUGH THINGS ARE QUIETING DOWN LATER IN THE WORKWEEK WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND BEYOND, AS WE MOVE TOWARDS LATE THIS WORK AND NEXT WEEKEND, IT’S GOING TO STAY AWFUL UNSETTLED. A THREAT FOR SEVERE WEATHER, A THREAT FOR HEAVY RAINFALL. ERIK CERNAK WILL BE IN WITH ALL THE DETAILS ON THAT ACTIVE WEATHER HEADING OUR WAY A LITTLE BIT LATER ON IN THE NEWSCAST. BUT YES, ELLIOTT, FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE NIGHT, THINGS ARE ST
