Thousands report outage on X app and website as users ‘can’t open notifications’
- Some users are reporting that they can use the desktop version of the platform, but still have problems on the app.
- “Web version went down completely. My mobile app seemed to keep going. Now, the web app is back up,” one user wrote.
- The AI chatbot told users that the situation is ongoing: “The situation appears to be ongoing, though it may be evolving. X has reportedly implemented DDoS protection measures to mitigate the attacks, but full resolution has not been universally confirmed. The exact cause and perpetrators of these cyberattacks remain under investigation, and X is likely working to restore complete functionality.”

- Content loading errors: Tweets, images, and other content have failed to load properly.
- Service unavailability: The platform has been intermittently inaccessible for many users.

These disruptions have significantly impacted user access and platform performance, with efforts underway to address the issue. - Around the same time as the X crash, Reddit users in the UK reported being unable to use the site. According to Downdetector, over 6,300 users reported a crash.
- The failed connection reads: “Internal server error.”
- Of the 6,339 recorded issues with the site, 60 percent were reported for failures to connect on the Reddit app.
- Some users wonder if the outage is due to a possible cyberattack similar to what Musk said happened on March 10. At the time, over 40,000 Downdetector reports flooded in from X users.

- X users are confused over the outage as some can post but aren’t able to see new comments.
- Other X users have complained, saying they can view some posts, but nothing is refreshing.
- “So X is down but I still found a way to complain about it… on X. The loop is complete,” one user posted.
- X is down for over 16,000 users, according to Downdetector.
- The outage started spiking at around 2:45 pm ET.
