Weather Warn Day for Overnight Saturday Night

TULSA, OKLA (KTUL) — Saturday is a Weather Warn Day across Green Country as severe storms are expected to develop late tonight and move through the area.

A Slight Risk for severe weather is in effect for much of the area.

Storms will develop late this evening along a cool front that drapes from central Kansas back into western Oklahoma. The early development will need to be watched closely, as these storms will pose a slightly elevated threat for tornadoes. However, storms will quickly become messy and form a cluster that will move into Green Country late tonight. The primary threat will be damaging wind and hail, but spin-up tornadoes are possible within the line of storms as it moves through.

Development will begin late tonight, and storms will likely move through the area around and after midnight.

With this late wave of storms, ensure that you have multiple ways to receive warnings and are able to shelter at a moment’s notice if necessary.
