Women’s March Madness scores, Sweet 16 live updates: South Carolina advances, UCLA aims to reach Elite Eight

We are deep into the 2025 Women’s NCAA Tournament with the first day of the Sweet 16 officially underway. Duke opened the slate with a 47-38 win over rival North Carolina in which it held the Tar Heels to just 28.3% from the field, then South Carolina outlasted Maryland in a 71-67 victory that went right down to the wire.

Later in the evening, LSU defeated NC State in an instant classic. Aneesah Morrow led the way with 30 points and 19 rebounds, but it was Mikaylah Williams who hit big shot after big shot down the stretch to give LSU the win. Williams finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and six assists, while Sa’Myah Smith added 21 points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Zoe Brooks was equally dominant late in the game for NC State, recording 21 points and five assists in the loss.

Led by Lauren Betts, the UCLA Bruins are in the middle of a historic season and are trying to show why they earned the No. 1 overall seed. So far they have looked dominant against their opponents, but Ole Miss embraces the underdog mentality and the Rebels will be a tough out.
